Pricing FAQ

What does "2 years of major-version upgrades" mean?

Your license covers every major version of the engine released within 24 months of your purchase date. If Meep 3 ships within that window, your project gets it; if Meep 4 ships outside it, you'd buy a new license to use it. Minor and patch releases inside any covered major are perpetual — there's no expiration on what you've already received.

What's a "project"?

One shipped product — a single game, app, or simulation — built on Meep. There's no revenue cap on the project itself once licensed. If you ship a second product, that's a second license.

What counts as "project funding"?

Cumulative committed funding earmarked for this specific project: equity rounds tagged to it, publisher advances, grants, crowdfunding raised, and the studio's own internal allocation. Generic studio revenue from other projects doesn't count. If you're not sure where you land, email us for a written read.

What happens if my project's funding crosses the threshold?

You can upgrade to the higher tier mid-project for the price difference — pay $9,500 to move from Indie to Standard, or contact us for an Enterprise upgrade. You never buy two licenses for the same project. The upgrade keeps your original purchase date, so your 24-month major-version window doesn't reset.

What kind of support is included?

None — support is a separate annual add-on at $2,000 (basic, 5-business-day response) or $10,000 (priority, 1-business-day response and bug-fix priority). The Free tier uses the public docs and community channels. Enterprise contracts include dedicated support and a written SLA.

Can my legal team review the contract before we buy?

Yes — the full Standard Tier sample license is published on this site. It's the same document you'll receive on purchase, with dates, parties, and project details filled in. Free, Indie, and Enterprise tier samples are available on request.

Can I evaluate before buying?

Yes. The Free tier is the evaluation tier — install @woosh/meep-engine and build a prototype with the full engine source. Move to a paid tier when you commit to shipping a project that crosses Free's funding or revenue caps.

Is the source actually available?

Yes. The full source ships in the npm package — there are no binary blobs, no obfuscation, no closed precompiled modules. You can read every line.
