Every tier lets you build commercial products with Meep - games, simulations, visualizations, internal tools, anything in that family. You get the full source via the npm package. There are no binary blobs.
Free below both ceilings. A project with under $50,000 of funding and under $50,000 of revenue is licensed by the file that ships in the package, for the major version it accompanies and every minor and patch release within it. Evaluation is free whatever your funding: install it, read the source, prototype internally. A paid license becomes necessary when you commit to shipping a project past those caps - and crossing a cap gives you 60 days to buy one, not an immediate breach.
Paid licenses are one-time, per project. The fee covers every major version of the engine released within 24 months of your purchase, and every covered version stays yours forever - your project never loses access to a version it once had. Indie and Standard differ only in the funding ceiling of the project they cover; Enterprise is a tailored contract.
The one restriction worth flagging here is the non-compete: you can't use Meep to build a derivative game engine, ECS framework, or engine-like product that competes with Meep itself. That's it. If you're not sure whether your project falls inside or outside that line, email us for a written read before you sink time into it.
If a project's funding grows beyond your tier's ceiling, you can upgrade for the price difference - no double licensing, the same project moves up. Support is sold separately as an annual add-on; the license itself stays a clean one-time purchase.
